KARACHI: Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan Robert-Jan Seigert visited FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) and held discussions with the company’s management on the outlook for Pakistan’s dairy sector, investment opportunities and workforce development, a statement said on Wednesday.

During the meeting, FCEPL officials briefed the ambassador on the company’s operations, ongoing initiatives and the potential for expansion and modernisation of the dairy value chain in Pakistan.

The discussions covered the role of local talent, skills development and opportunities for sustainable investment in the sector.

Seigert said Pakistan’s dairy industry has potential for growth, supported by a capable workforce and increasing adoption of modern practices. He also highlighted the importance of improving access to safe dairy products and reducing reliance on loose milk consumption.

FCEPL Managing Director Kashan Hasan said the company aimed to work with stakeholders to support the development of Pakistan’s dairy industry and improve access to safe and nutritious dairy products.
