Two killed in separate train accidents in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: A young man and a woman were killed in two separate train accidents in Nowshera on Tuesday after they were struck by speeding trains while walking along railway tracks, rescue officials said.

According to Rescue 1122, the first incident occurred in Armour Colony No. 2 in the Hakimabad area, where a young man, identified as Muhammad Suleman from Karachi, was walking on the railway track while reportedly wearing earphones. He was hit by a Karachi-bound train travelling from Peshawar and died on the spot.

Rescue officials shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital in Nowshera. Police officials said the victim was identified through his national identity card.In the second incident, an unidentified woman was struck and killed by a speeding train while walking along the railway track opposite Jamia Haqqania in Akora Khattak.

The woman’s identity could not be established as no identification documents were found in her possession.Rescue 1122 transported both bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital, while Pakistan Railways Police registered separate cases and launched investigations into the incidents.
