BAJAUR: The local police have appointed a Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (PASI) under the martyrs’ quota, honouring the sacrifice of a fallen police officer.
District Police Officer (DPO), Bajaur, Muhammad Khalid Khan, formally handed over the appointment order to Khalid Khan, son of martyred Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Noor Hakeem and a resident of Redo Shagai, Yousafabad, during a ceremony.
Congratulating Khalid Khan and his family on the occasion, the District Police Officer said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police would never forget the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by its personnel.
He termed the fallen police personnel as the force’s most valuable asset and emphasised that the dignity, welfare and support of their families remained among the department’s top priorities.
District Police Officer Muhammad Khalid Khan expressed the hope that the newly appointed officer would follow in his father’s footsteps by serving the public with honesty, courage and professionalism, while contributing to the maintenance of peace and law and order in the district.
According to police officials, the appointment was the first recruitment of its kind in Bajaur under the martyrs’ quota and reflected the department’s commitment to supporting the families of personnel who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Shaheed Assistant Sub-Inspector Noor Hakeem embraced martyrdom on July 2, 2025, while performing official duties alongside Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Faisal Ismail at Sadiqabad Phatak. He was martyed in a terrorist attack during the assignment.
