NOWSHERA: A domestic dispute in Pabbi tehsil of Nowshera turned deadly when three brothers allegedly shot and killed their father inside their home before opening fire on a police party that arrived to arrest them.
In a report lodged with the police, Muhammad Arif, a resident of Jangal Koroona, told the police that he was in Pabbi Bazaar when he received information that his brother, Muhammad Tahir, had been shot dead by his three sons, Huzaifa, Talha and Haris.
Acting on the report, Pabbi Police Station House Officer Muhammad Ayaz Khan, accompanied by police personnel including Sub-Inspector Sartaj Khan and Constable Haleem Malik and headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Pabbi Circle, Muqaddam Khan, rushed to the spot.
The accused were already armed and upon seeing the cops, they allegedly opened fire on the police party in an attempt to evade arrest. During an exchange of gunfire, Constable Haleem Malik and two accused identified as Huzaifa and Talha sustained serious injuries.
The two accused succumbed to their wounds while being taken to the hospital. The third suspect, Haris, managed . The police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend him. Authorities said the motive behind the dispute between the father and his sons had not yet been ascertained.
