LAHORE:Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman after allegedly luring her to his house with the promise of a job in Qila Gujjar Singh area.The suspect, identified as Mujahid Khan, allegedly contacted the woman with the offer of employment and told her he would also bear the expenses of her academy education.
Police said the woman went to the suspect's residence, where no one else was present. Investigators alleged that the suspect locked the house and sexually assaulted her.After receiving information about the incident, Qila Gujjar Singh Police registered a case and arrested the suspect.
A man was killed after being struck by a speeding vehicle while crossing a road in Shalimar area.
The victim, identified as Atlas Khan, sustained critical injuries when a speeding vehicle hit him as he attempted to cross the road.He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts. Police took the body into custody and completed the required legal formalities. However, the victim's family declined to pursue legal proceedings against the unidentified driver.
Following the completion of medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the bereaved family for burial.Police said no further legal action was initiated after the heirs refused to proceed with the case.
A 62-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a motorcycle on Canal Road. Rescue 1122 said it received an emergency call reporting the traffic accident from the Doctor Hospital area on Canal Road.
