A power outage caused by K-Electric disrupted operations at the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (KWSC) Dhabeji Pumping Station, triggering a technical fault that was expected to reduce the city’s daily water supply by nearly 100 million gallons.

According to a KWSC spokesperson, the electricity breakdown affected the K-2 Pump House, where the manifold chamber and main valves developed a technical fault. The dewatering process was being carried out at full pace to remove accumulated water from the affected valves, after which repair work would begin immediately.

The water utility warned that the temporary reduction in supply could affect several areas, including North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Buffer Zone, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and parts of Scheme 33, where water supply might remained disrupted until the repair work was completed.
