ISLAMABAD: Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu registered impressive victories while Star Women Academy A and Sindh C battled to a goalless draw on another action-packed day of the Prime Minister National Women’s Under-21 Hockey Championship 2026 at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.
The championship, organized by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in collaboration with Alaska Batteries, PTCL and PARCO, has brought together the country’s emerging female hockey talent in a week-long competition that runs from July 2 to 10.
In the opening match of the day, Gilgit-Baltistan edged past FD Islamabad 1-0 in a closely contested encounter. Urshila proved to be the difference between the two sides, scoring the lone goal of the match to hand her team a hard-earned victory.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir then produced a commanding display to outclass KPK A 4-0. The winning side dominated proceedings from the outset, with Alina Laiba, Alina and Hamna Ayesha getting on the scoresheet in an emphatic performance that underlined their title credentials.
In the third fixture, Islamabad continued their impressive run with a convincing 2-0 win over Sindh A. Mahnoor starred for the home side by netting both goals in a one-sided contest, ensuring Islamabad secured maximum points with a comfortable victory.
The fourth and final match of the day saw Sindh C and Star Women Academy A share the spoils after a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Both teams created scoring opportunities but failed to find the breakthrough despite determined efforts.
