KHAR: A police facilitation desk was established at the District Headquarters Hospital in Bajaur district, enabling the electronic transmission of medico-legal certificates (MLCs) directly to the relevant police stations.
The initiative, launched under the leadership of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid Khan, is designed to streamline the medico-legal documentation process, reduce paperwork, and improve coordination between the police and the health department.
Under the new system, computerised MLCs would be sent online from the hospital to the concerned police station, eliminating the need for citizens to carry documents between offices. Officials said the digital process would save time, enhance transparency, and expedite legal and investigative procedures.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the DPO said the police were committed to providing efficient, accessible, and citizen-friendly policing services by embracing modern technology.“Our priority is to strengthen public trust by delivering timely and quality services,” he said, adding that the use of digital tools would make police operations more effective while reducing inconvenience for the public.The DPO directed the officials concerned to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the system and maintain professional standards.
