As a concerned student, I believe that digital literacy has become essential in today’s technology-driven world. Unfortunately, many students complete their education without acquiring the practical skills needed in the modern job market. The demand for digital skills such as programming, graphic design, cybersecurity, digital marketing and artificial intelligence is increasing globally. Pakistan has a large youth population that can benefit from these opportunities. According to industry reports, freelancing and remote work continue to create employment opportunities for skilled individuals. However, a lack of proper training and access to modern technology prevents many young people from competing effectively in local and international markets. Educational institutions should focus more on practical learning rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge.
I request the concerned authorities, educational institutions and policymakers to introduce comprehensive digital skills programmes at schools, colleges and universities. Such initiatives can help reduce unemployment and prepare young people for future challenges.
