The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh on Monday arrested three people for allegedly attempting to take a recruitment test for other candidates during the ongoing physical and endurance examination being conducted by the FIA at the Special Security Unit (SSU) Police Headquarters in Malir.
Officials said the suspects were caught during the initial document verification process before they could participate in the physical test. The timely action by the verification team prevented an attempt to fraudulently secure government employment through impersonation and forgery.
The arrested suspects were identified as Bakhtiar, son of Alam, Shaman Ali, son of Roshan, and Amjad, son of Muhammad Arab. Investigators revealed that the three men were trying to take the exam using the credentials and identities of genuine candidates.
The FIA spokesperson said Bakhtiar, Shaman Ali and Amjad were attempting to impersonate Sahino Khan, Hadi Bakhsh and Aftab Ahmed respectively. Officials said the suspects had planned to deceive the recruitment process by presenting themselves as the actual candidates, thereby violating the recruitment rules and committing a serious offence.
The FIA emphasised that recruitment processes are being closely monitored to ensure transparency and merit. The authorities warned that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in fraudulent practices aimed at obtaining government jobs through illegal means.
Following the arrests, legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects. Cases are being prepared under the relevant laws related to impersonation, forgery and fraud. The spokesperson said investigations are under way to determine if additional individuals were involved in facilitating the impersonation attempt.
Officials are also examining if the original candidates had any role in the scheme or if other members of a wider network are connected to the case. The FIA reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of recruitment procedures and ensuring that deserving candidates are selected strictly on merit.
