CM Bugti announces civil award for brave hospital employee

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a civil award for Abdul Razzaq Tarakai, an employee of Civil Hospital Quetta, in recognition of his exceptional bravery, sense of duty, and humanitarian service during the recent acid attack on Dr Mahnoor Nasir.

The chief minister said Tarakai risked his own safety while rescuing the injured lady doctor and demonstrated remarkable courage and responsibility under extremely difficult circumstances. “His actions deserve appreciation and are a source of pride for the entire nation,” he remarked.

In a message posted on social media platform X, CM Bugti said: “Individuals who step forward to save lives and help others without regard for personal risk are invaluable assets to society.”

He noted that Tarakai’s timely response reflected the highest standards of humanitarian values, professional commitment, and moral integrity. “In recognition of his courageous service, the Government of Balochistan will confer a civil award upon him to promote the spirit of selflessness, compassion, and public service in society.”

The chief minister further said brave and dedicated individuals were the pride of the nation and that Tarakai’s courage would be acknowledged at the national level.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to encouraging those who serve humanity and contribute to public welfare, Bugti said such individuals represent hope, courage, and compassion in society and serve as role models for the younger generation.
