Two women among 3 injured as rivals clash in Bajaur

KHAR: Three persons, including two women, were injured during a firing incident that occurred due to a road dispute in Nazar Meena village of Barang tehsil in Bajaur tribal district on Saturday.

According to local sources, a group of people allegedly stormed their house, pelted it with stones, and opened fire during the dispute.

They said that women, elderly persons, and children were terrified as stones were rained on the residence, causing damage to the solar system and other household items during the incident.

They said that three persons, including two women, sustained injuries in the firing incident.

Meanwhile, the local police said that an investigation into the incident had been launched and a heavy contingent of police personnel had been deployed in the area.

District Police officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid said that an investigation into the Barang firing incident was underway, and efforts were also being made through a local jirga to resolve the dispute peacefully.

He said police personnel reached the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident and dispersed the crowd.

According to DPO, the personnel of Barang Police Station and Quick Response Force remained present in the area, while legal proceedings had also been initiated.
