Senator Sarmad Ali has said that the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China marks a historic milestone in one of the world’s most enduring and trusted bilateral partnerships.

In a statement issued here on Friday, he said Pakistan-China relations are rooted in mutual respect, strategic cooperation, and an unwavering commitment to regional peace and development. He noted that over the decades, the friendship between the two countries has evolved into an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, serving as a model of interstate relations in the modern world.

Senator Sarmad Ali paid tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for his historic and visionary role in strengthening Pakistan-China ties and laying the foundations of a relationship that continues to grow stronger with time. He said Bhutto’s diplomatic foresight and commitment to regional cooperation played a defining role in deepening trust and engagement between the two nations.

He said that Shaheed Bhutto had the distinction of being the last head of state to have met Chairman Mao Zedong before the Chinese leader’s death in 1976.

He further stated that cooperation between Pakistan and China has expanded across multiple sectors including trade, infrastructure, technology, education, defence, and people-to-people exchanges, while initiatives such as CPEC have opened new avenues of economic growth and regional connectivity.

Senator Sarmad Ali expressed confidence that the friendship between Pakistan and China would continue to flourish in the years ahead and contribute positively towards regional stability, prosperity, and global cooperation.

“As they say Pakistan-China friendship is higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey,” he added.
