LAHORE : With the Eidul Azha day approaching fast, the sacrificial animal markets in City have started to be populated with buyers and traders despite high prices this year.

One permanent and five temporary livestock markets have been activated in the City, where arrangements have been completed for the sale and purchase of the sacrificial animals.

The temporary livestock market in Saggian has also become fully functional and sheep, goats, bulls and camels are attracting the buyers.

In Shahpur Kanjran cattle market, traders coming to the market are looking optimistic; they say that till a few days ago, buying and selling was slow, however now with Eid approaching fast, the number of customers is continuously increasing, and the purchase of animals of different breeds is continuing rapidly and citizens are busy finding animals according to their choice and budget.

Traders are hopeful of further improvement in business before Eid, while buyers are continuously flocking to the livestock market in search of fair prices and quality animals. According to sources, the rates of animals are particularly high this year. The price of a camel is starting from Rs400,000, while bulls are available for at least Rs250,000. Similarly, the price of a goat is starting from Rs100,000, while the price of a sheep is being reported to be up to Rs80,000.
