Varsities sign MoU on addressing climate change, other issues

LAHORE : The Aga Khan University (AKU) and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a joint research, innovation and education initiative targeting the country’s most pressing development challenges.

According to a press release, the interdisciplinary partnership brings together the complementary strengths of the two institutions to co-develop solutions that improve the lives and welfare of communities in Pakistan and beyond. The collaboration will directly address critical issues related to public health, climate change and environment, education, sustainability and inclusive development. ‘By combining the complementary strengths of two of Pakistan's leading universities, this partnership will address critical challenges affecting citizens’ welfare and wellbeing,’ said LUMS Vice Chancellor, Dr Ali Cheema.
