KARACHI: Pakistan’s Samiullah, Ahsan Ayaz, and Huzaifa Ibrahim reached the quarterfinals of the $6000 Atlanta Squash Open in the United States on Friday.
Unseeded Sami stunned eighth seed Valerii Fedoruk from Ukraine 11-9, 11-6, 11-4 in 35 minutes in the second round.
Similarly, Ahsan defeated Dmytro Shcherbakov from Ukraine 11-9, 8-11, 11-6, 11-1 in 45 minutes and Huzaifa beat Seam Murphy from Ireland 11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5 in 47 minutes.
Now, Sami is to face Omar Elkattan from Egypt, Ahsan is up against third seed Marwan Tamer from Egypt, and Huzaifa is drawn against second seed Yee Xian Siow from Malaysia in the quarters.
