ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday dismissed petitions challenging the acquittal of former federal minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi, former DG Haj Rao Shakeel and former Joint Secretary Aftab Raja in the Haj corruption case.
The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar.
During the course of hearing, Latif Khosa, counsel for the petitioners, submitted before the court that the trial court had earlier convicted all the three accused, but the high court later acquitted them. He told the court that the FIA had challenged the high court’s verdict in the Supreme Court. He further informed the court that the fourth accused, Ahmed Faiz, had already been acquitted earlier. Later, the court after dismissing the appeals of FIA disposed of the matter.
