HARIPUR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Member of the National Assembly from Haripur, Babar Nawaz Khan, on Wednesday distributed cheques of compensation among the heirs of victims of Hattar gas pipeline blast.
Former MNA Captain (r) Safdar Awan, former provincial minister Qazi Muhammad Asad Khan, former tehsil chairman Samiullah Khan were among those present during the ceremony held at the office of deputy commissioner in Haripur.
The legal heirs of each of the eight dead received Rs2 million while each of the 11 injured also received Rs0.5 million as compensation.The federal minister Amir Muqam had during a visit to the house of eight victims of the gas pipeline on April 17, condoled the death of eight people in the tragic incident and announced compensation for the deceased and the injured on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Speaking to the participants, Babar Nawaz and Capt. (r) Safdar had assured the victims’ families of every support in reconstruction of their houses and in the education of their children.
