BATKHELA: The local political and social figures and traders have pledged that they would resist the renewed attempt to relocate the Protectorate of Immigrants Malakand office tooth and nail.

The office, which has long been based in Batkhela City and provided services to persons seeking overseas employment, is once again facing plans for relocation to Thana Baizai tehsil. The issue resurfaced after a recent official communication, reigniting controversy.

Local political and social figures and traders have rejected the proposed relocation, making it clear that they would not accept the shifting of the office from Batkhela under any circumstances.

They pleaded that Batkhela served as a central and accessible location for the people, whereas relocating it to Thana Baizai would create severe difficulties for them.It is worth mentioning that a similar attempt to shift the office was made previously but was withdrawn after strong public protests, allowing the office to remain in Batkhela.
