Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho has confirmed that the most notorious dacoit of the Katcha areas in the province, Sanaullah Shar, has surrendered to the police along with 13 of his accomplices.
Sanaullah Shar’s surrender is a big success in the ongoing Nijat-e-Mehran operation, he said while talking to Geo News on Saturday.
The provincial police chief said that Shar had been involved in serious crimes, besides tribal disputes. He said the dacoit and his men had been operation in the Sindh-Punjab riverine region.
Odho hoped that with the surrender of the notorious criminal and 13 of his accomplices, the chapter of kidnappings for ransom in the region would come to an end.
He reiterated the Sindh police’s resolve that all dacoits in the Katcha areas would be eliminated. He announced that no harm would come to those laying down arms and these people would be taken to courts for trial.
