Police have registered a case in connection with a Rs130 million robbery in the Bahadurabad neighbourhood, where armed suspects looted gold jewellery and foreign currency from a residence in Faran Society.
According to the police, the case was registered at the Bahadurabad police station on the complaint of the affected citizen, Syed Moaz Ali, against four unidentified suspects.
As per the FIR, the complainant stated that he worked in marketing and research and had withdrawn 200 tolas of gold jewellery and $100,000 in cash from a bank locker on Sharea Faisal. He said he was returning home with his driver when the incident occurred.
The FIR further stated that four suspects riding two motorcycles followed the complainant to his residence. Upon reaching Faran Society, one suspect remained outside while three armed men entered the house after the automatic gate was opened.
The suspects allegedly held the complainant at gunpoint and fled with the gold jewellery and cash. The complainant told the police he could identify the suspects if they were produced before him. The police said raids were being conducted to arrest those involved in the robbery; however, no major breakthrough had been made so far.
