Rawalpindi: A special event to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day was held at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), aimed at expressing unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirming support for their legitimate right to self-determination.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of female students and faculty members from various departments of the university. Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Women University, Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz), in her special message expressed complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people and urged the students to become the voice of the oppressed through knowledge and awareness.

She said that Kashmir Solidarity Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing injustices and gross human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She emphasized that the day highlights Pakistan’s moral obligation to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

She stressed that education empowers female students to understand global issues and raise their voice with logic and conviction. She added that universities play a key role in creating awareness about such critical human rights issues through research, dialogue, and academic discourse. On the occasion, a special lecture was delivered by Lecturer Shozab Askari from the Department of Pakistan Studies. .
