Minister reviews Digital Wallets initiative

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah held a meeting with Secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Amir Ahmad Ali to review the progress of SIMs distribution under the Social Protection Wallets (Digital Wallets) initiative.

The BISP secretary briefed the minister on the pace of implementation and informed that more than 60 percent of the SIMs have been distributed to date to eligible beneficiaries across the country.

The minister appreciated the efficiency, fast delivery mechanisms and effective implementation of the Digital Wallets initiative, stating that it reflects improved service delivery and strengthened transparency in social protection systems. He commended the leadership of the Secretary BISP and his team for achieving tangible progress within a short timeframe.

The minister directed that the remaining distribution process be expedited to ensure timely, secure, and seamless access to financial assistance for beneficiaries under the Social Protection Wallets framework.
