LAHORE: Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Lahore organised the annual Heart Talk Conference 2026 on Saturday.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, CEO Prof. Bilal Mohiuddin, MS Dr. Aamir Rafique Butt and other faculty members attended the conference. Khawaja Salman also distributed honorary shields to CEO, MS and other faculty members and staff in recognition of their services.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, while addressing the participants of the ceremony, said that due to the personal interest of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the best medical facilities are being provided to patients suffering from heart diseases across the province. Punjab Institute of Cardiology is not only the best treatment centre for patients suffering from heart diseases in Pakistan but also in South Asia.

In 2025, this institution has performed angiography on more than 52,000 patients. Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha is providing relief to cardiac patients. In Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology, patients are also undergoing angiography and bypass. A state-of-the-art Jinnah Institute of Cardiology is being built in Lahore at a cost of Rs16 billion. Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Murree is successfully providing quality treatment facilities to patients. The foundation stone of the Cardiac Institute will be laid in Gujranwala during the current financial year.
