LAHORE : The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) issued an office order suspending Tahir Mahmood, Commercial Superintendent at the RO KotLakhpat Division, with immediate effect due to misconduct involving the harassment of a female customer.
The suspension order states Tahir Mahmood is placed under suspension on account of misconduct. The office order (No. HR/C-128) was issued by the Superintending Engineer, South Circle Lesco. Chief Executive Officer of Lesco, Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, took swift action by suspending the accused employee, guided by Lesco's zero-tolerance policy towards harassment. The incident led to the initiation of strict legal proceedings against the employee.
Lesco has established mechanisms for handling harassment complaints, including dedicated forums and harassment committees, and conducts regular training sessions regarding harassment policies. The management of Lesco has taken action against the employee as a personal misconduct case, stating that the act does not represent the organisation. The company has procedures for transparent inquiries to address harassment complaints.
