KHAR: One civilian was martyred and two others, including a school watchman, were injured when suspected militants attacked a police checkpost in Kohi Sar area in Barang tehsil in Bajaur tribal district, officials said on Saturday.
The officials said that unidentified armed men opened fire on a police checkpost in the Kohi Sar area. During the exchange of fire, a civilian, identified as Naseem Khan, was killed. A cop and a school watchman sustained injuries in the attack.
District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq confirmed the incident and said that investigations had been launched into the attack. He added that a clearance operation had been carried out in the area to ensure security and trace those responsible.
