CDA set to launch ‘E-Stamp Paper’ system in capital

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration is set to launch ‘E-Stamp Paper’ system in the federal capital under an agreement with the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA).

In this connection, a meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters chaired by Chairman and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, Director ICT Rabia Aurangzeb, officers from ICT and CDA as well as DG-PLRA (Punjab Land Records Authority) along with his team participated online.

The meeting was informed that most of the stages related to the launch of E-Stamp paper had been completed and the formal commencement of the E-Stamp software and its testing phase had begun.

The meeting was told that in the initial phase, the E-Stamp Paper system had been integrated with OneLink. In this regard, the launch of non-judicial E-Stamp papers in Islamabad will be carried out soon.

Similarly, work on the launch of judicial stamp papers will begin in the next phase. The meeting also reviewed the progress of digitization in ICT and CDA. The meeting was informed that the digitization of 24 mauzas had been completed so far, while the remaining 11 mauzas will be digitized soon.

The meeting was informed that the records of CDA’s Estate Wing has been scanned, while the scanning of Building Control records was ongoing. After the scanning of records, the process of formal digitization will be finalized. Similarly, a mobile app has also been developed for the convenience of citizens and to provide them with access to their land records.

This initiative will bring transparency and better facilities to citizens in matters related to land. Randhawa said in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi for a Digital Islamabad, these measures will promote a cashless economy in Islamabad. He added that citizens will also find ease in transactions, property transfers, inheritances buying and selling, etc.
