Unity stressed to restore peace in Kurram

PARACHINAR: Speakers at a seminar on Tuesday stressed the need for unity and continuity of development projects to restore a lasting peace in the Kurram tribal district.

The aim of the seminar titled ‘Peace and Development in Kurram, was to promote peace in the district, review ongoing development projects, strengthen tribal harmony and discuss the future course of action.

Organised by the Headquarters 73 Brigade, the conference was attended by Kohat Commissioner Syed Mutassim Billah Shah, Commander 73 Brigade, deputy commissioner Kurram, tribal elders, religious scholars, civil and military officers and media persons.

During the event, participants were given a detailed briefing on the current situation of Kurram district, including law and order, development matters, and ongoing challenges.

Tribal elders assured the government of full public and local support in resolving revenue-related issues and requested that implementation of development projects be expedited, with community participation prioritised at every level.

They also proposed strict and effective action against elements spreading discord through social media or other means, to ensure the region’s peaceful environment remained intact.At the conclusion of the conference, all participants reaffirmed their commitment to remain united and play their active role in achieving sustainable peace, development and a prosperous future for Kurram.
