As professional networks increasingly extend beyond national borders, initiatives that connect diaspora communities are playing an important role in fostering collaboration, mentorship and knowledge-sharing. In this spirit, Dawood Global Foundation launched Ladiesfund Istanbul, its newest international chapter, at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul.
Hosted by the Honourable Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, H.E. Mr Khawaja Khurram Naeem, the inaugural gathering brought together Pakistani women from diverse professional backgrounds for a roundtable discussion on leadership, entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and strengthening connections among the Pakistani community in Türkiye.
The initiative seeks to create opportunities for networking, mentorship, collaboration and support for women-led businesses while encouraging partnerships across borders.
The delegation included Mariam Mirza (Actress), Madiha Muzaffar (Artist), Yasemin Khan (Business Owner), Hamidah Zaki (HR Professional), Alizay Saeed (Founder, VavaCars), Mishal Agha (Blogger) and Feryal Shahzad (Entrepreneur). The delegation was headed by Tara Uzra Dawood, CEO, Ladiesfund.
Welcoming the delegation, Consul General Khawaja Khurram Naeem said he was pleased to host accomplished Pakistani women making their mark in fields including finance, marketing and business, adding that he looked forward to exploring ways to support their efforts and strengthen professional engagement within the community.
“The launch reflects our vision of building a truly global sisterhood of Pakistani women who support, mentor and open doors for one another across borders. As our international chapters continue to grow, so does our ability to create meaningful opportunities, strengthen economic participation and showcase the remarkable talent and leadership of Pakistani women around the world,” said Tara Uzra Dawood, CEO, Ladiesfund.
Artist Madiha Muzaffar said she was particularly encouraged by the prospect of connecting talented women artisans in Pakistan with an international network, creating new avenues for collaboration and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneur Alizay Saeed described the initiative as an opportunity to build a community where Pakistani women support one another’s ambitions, adding that investing in women’s education and economic independence has an impact that extends well beyond individuals.
The launch reflects continued efforts to connect Pakistani women living abroad through professional engagement and collaboration. By bringing together entrepreneurs, artists and professionals, the new chapter aims to strengthen ties within the diaspora while encouraging partnerships, knowledge exchange and opportunities for women across industries and borders.
