B I R represents three steps towards success for young Pakistanis: Belief, Independence and Risk. The young generation often fears failure because they do not believe in themselves. Every successful person has to write their own story without depending entirely on others. That is why independence is important on the road to success.

It is human nature to fear failure, but we should not let that fear stop us from pursuing our dreams. We often become confused and hesitate to take the first step. Taking a risk is not always bad. Sometimes, it is necessary.

According to demographic reports, around two-thirds of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 30. The young generation is the building block of every country. Education and technology give young people the power to improve their skills, knowledge and abilities. Pakistan’s young generation is making use of these opportunities, but many are still afraid to take steps without support.

Consequently, the three-word rule, Belief, Independence and Risk, can help make our mindset stronger and support our personal growth.

B: Belief

Belief is not just a word. It expresses a feeling that comes from how we think about ourselves. We need to build trust in our plans, abilities and talents.

One of the biggest problems among young people is that they compare themselves with others. We look at other people’s achievements and forget that everyone has a different journey. Instead of comparing ourselves with others, we should focus on our own progress.

The solution is to set small goals and achieve them. Small achievements can bring great happiness and strengthen our belief in ourselves. When we complete one small goal, we gain confidence to take on another. These small achievements gradually build confidence and help in personality development.

Believing in yourself does not mean that you will never fail. It means having the confidence to learn from failure and try again.

I: Independence

Being an independent person empowers you to become stronger financially, emotionally and mentally. Independence does not mean that we should never listen to other people. It means that we should be able to listen to advice and still make our own decisions.

For example, imagine a person who has a problem and makes a plan to solve it. They start making decisions but also ask others for feedback. Someone says something that makes them change their decision immediately. Why? Because it is human nature to be influenced by the opinions of others.

This example explains why independence is important. You are the owner of your life, not other people. If a leader faces a problem, they have to trust their own judgement after considering the available information. Similarly, Pakistan’s young generation needs to become independent thinkers so that others cannot easily mislead them.

R: Risk

Taking risks in life is important for personal growth, learning from experience and avoiding the regret of never trying. One of the biggest reasons Pakistan’s young generation is afraid to take risks is the question: “What will people say?” Another question is: “What if we do this and then we fail? What will we do?”

These fearful questions can stop us from moving forward. Some people want everything without making any effort, but it is impossible to achieve success without effort. A person who has a dream and is willing to take a risk should realise that they may lose everything just for that dream. Taking a risk does not mean acting without thinking. It means having the courage to move forward after considering the possible consequences. Sometimes, failure teaches us more than success. As Mark Zuckerberg said, “The biggest risk is not taking any risk.”

B.I.R: the formula for success

B.I.R is a simple formula for personal growth. Belief gives us direction, Independence gives us power and Risk gives us the courage to act. If our youth adopt this three-word rule, Pakistan can make progress. We must believe in ourselves, become independent thinkers and take calculated risks for our future.

We all need to focus on this three-word rule for the development of our youth and the progress of Pakistan. Every successful journey begins with a first step. That step may be small, but it can lead to something much bigger.
