Poems forever
By Emily Dickinson
Faith - is the Pierless Bridge
Supporting what We see
Unto the Scene that We do not-
Too slender for the eye
It bears the Soul as bold
As it were rocked in Steel
With Arms of Steel at either side-
It joins - behind the Veil
To what, could We presume
The Bridge would cease to be
To Our far, vacillating Feet
A first Necessity.

The Moon walked with me through
the night,
Slow and quiet, side by side.
We stayed together all night long,
Its majestic glow sang nature’s song,
Every note touched my soul,
Holding me close, then letting go.
A pin-drop silence held us there,
A soulful journey, light as air.
A puff of clouds moved to hide the light,
But darkness faded within my sight.
I looked at the Moon with a gloomy face,
Why am I low?
A sudden weight I cannot trace.
I recall tales tied to moonlight,
Of human sorrow, loss and plight.
O Moon,
This cherished journey draws to a close;
In your gentle light,
I find repose.

The days are sombre.
I feel gloomy.
The mind is not vivid.
It’s all dreamy.
There is no clarity in my actions.
I am indecisive.
There is no narrator of my story.
There is silence.
Sad are my days.
Life is a maze.
You will feel lost
Once you take the wrong turn.
You will get entangled
In a never-ending run.

I am a tree, adorned with all its thorns and flowers.
Gusts of winds move me.
I have no choice, so I let the
force steer me.
I don’t want to break.
So, I tremor and let the throes of fate do as they please.
But I am not weak.
I stand my ground.
I am strong and bold with my mighty will and my brown-coloured resilience.
I won’t let anyone or anything uproot me.
I have my fair share of thorns. Weaknesses that are there,
against my will,
and sometimes, I think,
I care a little too deeply, give more than expected.
So then, I tend to take a deep breath and embrace my thorns
and my flowers.
As I am them and they are me,
for I am that tree that you see in the deep end of that bewitched forest.
