Poems forever
By Emily Dickinson
Superiority to Fate
Is difficult to gain
‘Tis not conferred of Any
But possible to earn
A pittance at a time
Until to Her surprise
The Soul with strict economy
Subsist till Paradise.

The laughter we shared still drifts
on the breeze,
Soft as sunlight passing through
autumn trees.
Our footsteps once tangled along
winding streets,
Now vanish in silence,
Where memory meets.
I remember your smile,
the spark in your eyes,
The secrets we whispered
beneath endless skies.
And whistling leaves of giant chinars.
Time carried us onward,
on separate streams,
And now I chase shadows
of long-forgotten dreams.
The café where we lingered,
the benches we claimed,
Seem empty, yet whisper your
forgotten name.
Letters unread, words we
never could say,
Lie folded in corners, gathering
dust and decay.
Some friendships are like jewels,
distinct and bright,
Visible only in memory’s quiet night.
Though paths diverge and
voices grow faint,
I carry your echo, my joy and my pain.
And sometimes I wonder,
in twilight’s soft glow,
Do you remember the days we’d
never let go?
The bond may have faded, but still,
in my heart,
You live in the spaces where
we were never apart.

Oh, how the little flowers bloom,
In the midst of the falling rain,
Little kids come out to play,
Full of glee, no delay.
Little puddles “splash” as the light rain
falls to the ground,
Like a wet rainbow shining across the sky.
The sky was finally blue,
A velvet curtain, covering the vast view,
The rain went pitter patter pitter patter,
Then it stopped, and all was still.
The cool breeze swept through as the trees swayed ahead,
Bringing merry dreams to those tiny heads.
The beautiful butterflies flew above
the fresh bushes of berries,
Filling the garden with a magical aura.
But in the corner,
A hidden door is kept in order,
Its frame made of old wood and green
leaves as decor.
Its presence is a mystery,
It could not be opened, nor was its
history known.
Then came a little bunny,
Her fur as soft as a feather in winter,
Her eyes deep blue,
Just standing on the grass in the misty hue.
Hopping across the sweet grass,
She made it to the mysterious door at last.
The door felt magical to the little bunny
For it smelled like delicious honey.
Reaching for the door,
She finally discovered the lore.
The kind bunny’s magical touch
revealed something mystical.
The wind smelled of sweet candy,
The ground was made of colourful
marshmallows,
Like a rainbow of sweets melted into the earth.
The clouds were made of cotton candy,
Fluffy and sugary.
Click, click, click did the magical
fairies’ wands go,
Flying across the sky with perfect flow.
Such an enchanting scene will surely be dreamy,
Good night to those sleepy heads,
Sleep tight in those little beds,
Sweet dreams!
