I have been wanting to share my two cents on a couple of articles in the issue of July 17. I read with interest ‘Fatehpur Sikri: A silent witness to Mughal grandeur’ by Kabeer Khan. There are many grand examples of Mughal architecture in our country but, unfortunately, they are not really given the importance they deserve. We ought to preserve them but, except for those declared as Unesco World Heritage Sites, the rest are ignored.
In the same issue, the cover story ‘Doctor or engineer: both unemployed’ by Yumna Zahid Ali was thought-provoking. The education policymakers should do something to produce professionals who are needed by the country. Great job by the writers!

I liked the overall issue of July 24, but was really impressed with the cover story ‘The office politics trap: the game you win by refusing to play.’ However, I would like to point out that in many cases, the opposite happens. The sycophants who have the boss’s ear manage to get out of tight spots, while the silent workers continue to suffer in silence.
I would also like to praise the changes in the ‘Bits ‘n’ Pieces’ segment. The shorter boxes are easy to read and offer more information.

Lack of educational facilities
Dear Editor,
The educational facilities at Balicha High School, Balicha, a small village in District Tump, are in poor condition. The school is facing severe shortages of basic necessities, which are badly affecting students’ studies, especially during the hot summer months. The major problems include a shortage of chairs and tables, the absence of fans in the classrooms, no books or notebooks in the library and no water cooler, resulting in a lack of clean, cold drinking water. Due to these issues, students are unable to study comfortably and are being deprived of a quality education. The students of Balicha village deserve the basic facilities that other schools have. I kindly request the Education Department and the authorities to consider the issues facing Balicha High School and take immediate steps to resolve these problems.
