I thoroughly enjoyed reading the 24 July issue of Us magazine. The story, ‘The office politics trap: the game you win by refusing to play’ by M. Shamail Anwar, was one of the most practical articles I have read in recent issues. I found Shamail’s advice on avoiding gossip, building credibility and focusing on meaningful work extremely valuable. And you know what? I could relate to the examples in the article. I also liked Tahira Ayesha’s article, ‘The digital vortex: how social media is reshaping childhood’. It highlighted a problem that many parents and teachers are concerned about today and offered realistic solutions rather than simply criticising technology. The book review of A Woman of Substance has persuaded me to read the novel. Keep up the excellent work.

Every week I look forward to reading Us, and the issue of 24 July did not disappoint. My favourite article was the cover story, ‘The office politics trap: the game you win by refusing to play’ by M. Shamail Anwar. It offered practical advice that young professionals like myself can use. The article on the CSS examination highlighted the importance of fairness and merit in public institutions. I also enjoyed ‘Comic Relief’, which is always fun to read. Ed, I would like to praise the poets whose poems make ‘Poets’ Corner’ a treat to read every Friday. In fact, it is the first section that I read. Congratulations to all the contributors!

The issue of 24 July was interesting. The story ‘Pakistan-China friendship - higher than mountains and deeper than oceans’ by Danish Gagai piqued my interest and I am looking forward to reading the next episode. I was equally impressed by ‘The digital vortex: how social media is reshaping childhood’. I agree with the writer that parents, schools and technology companies all have a role to play in helping children develop better and useful digital habits. I also enjoyed reading the review of A Woman of Substance. Please continue publishing such diverse and meaningful content.
